Other Cancer Tumor
We make the most advanced non-invasive cancer treatments available to our patients. The Stereotactic Radiosurgery Center at Northern Westchester Hospital offers both the Novalis radiosurgery system and the Gamma Knife Perfexion. The Gamma Knife treats tumors of the brain and cervical spine. The Novalis can treat cancers anywhere in the body. The sophisticated technology in both systems deliver high doses of highly focused radiation that targets cancerous cells and leaves healthy tissue intact.
Our skilled, compassionate team of radiosurgeons, radiation oncologists, oncology nurses, and medical technicians are improving the lives of cancer patients by making the most of ground-breaking technologies designed to improve treatment outcomes while reducing unwanted side effects.

Non-Invasive Cancer Tumor Treatment
Northern Westchester radiosurgeons treat a wide range of primary and metastatic cancers throughout the body with non-invasive, incision-free radiosurgery. We use high doses of concentrated radiation delivered using precision beams to dramatically reduce the risk of damage to healthy tissue surrounding the cancer tumor during radiation.
Our cutting-edge radiosurgery systems allow us to complete treatments in either a single session, or over a series of sessions, known as fractionated radiosurgery.
The precise, shapeable radiation beam used in Novalis TX rotates around the patient, allowing radiation to be delivered to any point in the body. The system can even adapt to breathing and body movements, making it available for use on cancer tumors located with the lung.
Advanced Cancer Care
With the Novalis TX system, our radiation oncologists can treat challenging cancer tumors that may have previously been deemed to be untreatable due to their proximity to the spine, brain, or vital organs. Because no anesthesia is needed, radiosurgery may be a good alternative to open surgery for patients with complex conditions or restrictions that limit treatment options.
Stereotactic radiosurgery is quick, comfortable and painless, and are usually performed on an outpatient basis. The risk of complications is exceptionally low, and most patients are able to get back to their normal routines and activities within a few hours after their radiosurgery.
Here at Northern Westchester Hospital, we're delivering exceptional care close to home by combining world-class medical talent with ground-breaking technologies.
